It's quick and easy to make, and jam-packed with flavor! Read through to know how to make it in 5 simple steps:
Ingredients:
4 pieces of halibut steak
1 can mushrooms, sliced
4 tbsp of butter
1 lemon, juiced
1/2 cup chopped fresh herbs such as parsley, chives, or basil
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp of olive oil
Cayenne, salt, and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a hot skillet, melt butter and sauté mushrooms for 3 minutes. Add a pinch of salt then create a space for the halibut to cook at the center.
- Season the halibut steaks with cayenne, salt, and pepper on both sides. Add them to the skillet and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Cook at medium-high heat. When the desired doneness is reached, set aside the halibut on a serving plate.
- With the mushroom left on the skillet, set it to low heat and add water to deglaze. Let some of the water evaporate.
- Add the butter, parsley (or herb of choice), and lemon juice to the skillet and stir until the butter is melted and the sauce is well combined. Season to taste.
- Spoon the mushroom and lemon butter sauce over the halibut fillets.
