The holidays are made of moments—shared laughter, the warmth of full tables, and fleeting shards of memory that linger long after the season has passed. This box is one of mine.

It begins with my grandmother, Esperanza. Raised on the streets of Mindanao, she was loud in every way—her voice, her laughter, and her love. With resourcefulness and grit, she turned dried fish and simple meals into something extraordinary, teaching me that food isn’t just sustenance—it’s love in its most generous form.

Baguio comes to mind, the first and last out-of-town trip we took together. The mountain air was crisp, her laughter filled the quiet, and the sweetness of strawberries seemed to hold the fleeting warmth of that time. The Strawberry Basil Preserve carries that memory—a reminder of her presence and the gift of her love.

The Chocolate-Coated Danggit speaks of her boldness—a mix of salty, sweet, and a touch of bitterness, much like her life. The Nosi Kalbanosy, smoky and spiced, mirrors her playful side, her way of breaking the rules and filling every room with laughter.

At the heart of this box is the Palapa sa Lumba, fiery and unapologetic, crafted by the women of Lanao del Sur who, like Esperanza, carry the fire of resilience. The tropical brightness of Malagos Mango Sublime and the tangy depth of Bignay Jam bring Mindanao’s abundance to life, grounding this collection in her roots.

The final piece, MeatBros Prosciutto, ties these flavors together with depth and balance. It’s a reminder that food, like memory, connects us to the people we love and the stories we carry forward.
